No game no life is about two siblings Sora and Shiro who are ridiculously good at playing games. These two consider life to be a crappy games and have become NEET(Not in education, Employment, or Training). One day, they are summoned to an alternate world by a boy named Tet who is the "God" of an alternate world. In this world, war and murder is forbidden and everything is decided by games even national borders. Humanity has been repeatedly losing to other races and have lost all their land apart from one remaining city. Now its up to sora and shiro to save the day.
When I read the synopsis of this show, I didn't think much of it but I decided to give it a shot anyways, if the show doesn't take itself too serious and is funny, this could be a cool show.
First lets talk about the animation, I won't pretend to be an animation expert, but it looks like the animation style of this show is more focused on been very bright and colorful rather than more detailed in design which I believe reflects the type of show this is.
The characters while we don't know much about their back story yet are very distinct and likable for the most part, especially the male character Sora who is incredibly fun to watch. The music is awesome and usually fits whats going on the story. The absolute best part about the show is definitely how it strikes a very good balance between been very logical while remaining fun with a lot of good humor. As the story is based on games, there is a lot of clever information about game theory focusing on probabilities and psychology of gaming. This part of the story also gives the story a bit of tension which keeps you invested.
The only negative I have about the show is about one of the side characters steph who is the daughter of the former king of the humanity or imanity as they are called in the show. She is kind of the by the books king's daughter naive but means well clumsy but tries her best. It looked like the story was going to arc her character and it still could seeing as this is season one but for most of the season she is kind of useless and its almost like she is just there to be made fun off even if some of the jokes are funny.

In conclusion, a solid story line with very colorful animation and distinct characters which are pretty fun to watch especially Sora. It also has some cool references to other anime that are pretty funny. Overall no game no life is pretty good anime and definitely one to check out.
